meri raksha mere haath

Sep 18, 2016, Bhakti Dham, Mangarh: In today’s society, empowering women means empowering them not only with education but also with the skills that make them capable of facing any physical challenges. Women need to be prepared to defend themselves from any kind of physical harm and the more skills they gain, the more equipped they will be. With this in mind, Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat Education (JKP Education), organised a Self-Defence Training Campaign that concluded with an enthralling display of martial arts by the girls. The campaign, named “Meri Raksha, Mere Haath”, came to a grand finale on 18th September, 2016, with around 6000 girls demonstrating the several self-defence techniques learnt over the 10 days training to visiting dignitaries, namely Chief Guest, Mrs. Anupriya Patel and other VIPs, Mr. Randeep Hooda, Mrs. Sutapa Sanyal and Mrs. Juhie Singh. This demonstration broke the current record for Limca’s “Largest Self-Defence Demonstration” of 5000 girls held on 8th March 2015 by Delhi Police Central Range.

This essential social campaign, whose mission was to Educate, Equip and Empower women, was driven and led by Sushri Dr. Vishakha Tripathi Ji, President of both Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat (JKP) Bhakti Dham, and Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat Education (JKPE). Students from sixteen educational institutions, including three that are run by JKP, were trained in self-defense techniques by Martial Arts expert Abhishek Yadav and his team from 5th until 17th September, 2016. A combined demonstration of all the 6000 students took place in Bhakti Bhawan, a large dome shaped satsang hall, in Bhakti Dham, Mangarh.

The grand display at Bhakti Dham Premises received huge applause and appreciation from all those present at the event. MoS for Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, Anupriya Patel was truly moved by the display. “You have taken me back to my school days when girls were considered to be vulnerable but after watching your performance I can truly say that empowerment is now in your hands. I congratulate Dr. Vishakha Tripathi, Ram Puri and the master trainer Abhishek Yadav for this huge effort” said Anupriya.

At the conclusion of the event, all the participants and teachers received a gift from JKP Presidents, Sushri Dr. Vishakha Tripathi Ji, Sushri Dr. Shyama Tripathi Ji and Sushri Dr. Krishna Tripathi Ji, as a reward for their hard work and dedication.

All the JKPE participants felt blessed and grateful that along with the tools for success they receive through the free education they receive from JKPE, they were also receiving the tools to survive.

JKPE is committed to supporting the less advantaged of the society and will continue to bring the necessary tools that our community needs to take the society towards a brighter future.

The entire display event was a grand success after 15 days of rigorous training. With this JKP Education has added yet another feather to its cap and a place in Limca Book of Records.
